[Oh. Pauses for a second, looking at her more closely. Hey hey now that he's paying more attention, she looks different, and her hair...] --it has! You look different than I remember.

I grew up a little. {Grin.] By a couple years, anyway. Think it's an improvement?

Mm! You look nice, Nami. [Sincere, sincere. Then his eyes flit about the orchard.] How long's this been here?

Since April last year. We had an experiment that kind of...made us all believe we settled in Luceti hundreds of years ago of our own free will. I ran an orchard in that reality. [She was also married and had three children and kind of slept with one of her crewmates BUT DETAILS. Nami will never mention any of that part. >>]

They just decided to leave it behind, I guess. It gives me something to do.

Ehh? [How weird, his expression and that 'ehh' seems to say. I-it's good you don't tell him about the children and being married and all that, Nami, he'd bwuuuuh considerably.

He looks around the orchard once more, though.] It's pretty nice-- I bet spring and summer makes it even nicer, huh?

Oh, definitely! Harvest is in early winter, so the place is kinda stripped bare right now. I wish you could see it in the summer, though. The trees are beautiful. [Yup, Nami will take that 'marriage' thing to her grave with her.] Have you ever tried mikans?

I wish I could, too. [But if his lack of wings is any indication, Naoki guesses he's not going to be here long.] I have! You grow them here?

[mikangirl]

I do! I'm just sorry I don't have any left to share right now. But such is life.

[...] How are things back home?

[scalethetower]

Alas. [Grin.] Can't expect them to last forever. [Especially if they taste good.

Pause--] Ah, they're about the same. [:x Sadly he doesn't even remember leaving (until he was told he'd been after poofing a while ago), and no time really passed.]

Does that mean 'nice enough', or 'full of demons and scary things'?

[Naoki laughs--] More or less I managed to knock out one of the biggest scary things. [He was at the end of his journey after all (he hoped).]

Well, that's something, at least. [It'd kind of suck if you went back home to hell on earth. 8|]

[Home's already been hell on earth for a while orz anything would be better.] Yeah... So how have things been here for you? Besides the experiments.

...I think I have a plan of fighting against the Malnosso. That's big news, right? Even if it's probably doomed to fail.

[scalethetower]

[A moment to accommodate Naoki's surprised pause, then he leans in. Just so he can speak quieter.] Still, though, you have one. That's something in itself.

Mmm. It all depends on whether I can get access to some of their Shifting technology. It's less "escape" and more freedom to move outside the barrier and try and find out what is actually going on. [But details aren't worth going in to, really. She gives him a crooked grin.] Wish me luck.
