[Nami gets home from her mission late evening on the 2nd and knows pretty must straight away that something is off. Having been gone nearly two weeks, running into Sanji the way she does puts a bad taste in her mouth. She was looking forward to seeing them.

Once Sanji leaves with his spooky darkness powers, she strides through the house in search of other nakama who are awake in search of answers. Don't worry, if nobody's awake she'll just shake someone awake. 8Db Maybe all of you!

...and that shows her quite plainly that the experiment going on isn't just affecting her chef.

FML.

In a temper the next morning, she heads through town, meets some very off-kilter people she knows, and at least thanks the powers that be that she's unaffected this time. It doesn't improve her mood any, so she heads for the battledome to try and work out some stress and try (yet again) to see if she can locate the way down to Catherine's lab.

Okay, yes. That was kind of easy. TOO BAD ABOUT THE MESS.]

[Irritated Voice]

Does someone want to explain to me what the hell happened in the battledome? If any of you are still sane, that is. [She flops down in the wreckage of Catherine's lab and pans the video across the rubble. Doesn't seem much need for secrecy. This has to have been noticed by now, right?] And if anyone is still sane, please tell me what the hell is going on today?

...preferably over alcohol.

[She'll vent her temper on killing a bunch of pirates at the battledome, drop by the battledome clinic on the way out, then swing past Raine's with a handful of papers in hand. And finally, she hits the bar to drink in moody silence.

Unless of course anyone wants to keep her company, because that'd be kind of cool. Worst homecoming ever. >E]

Sounds like some good stuff. [Even though Ragna doesn't have the most luxurious experience with drinking a lot, he'll give it a shot. The strongest thing he's really tried was probably a Going Merry.]

I'll give it a shot, but if I end up in some crappy situation, it's all on you.

I'll do my best to steer you out of trouble. [She's only going to pour him a finger-width of the stuff. It'd be pretty rude to Noel if he died from alcohol poisoning, after all.]

[The sad thing is that he would probably end up coming back from the dead long before Noel returned.

Ragna just eyes the drink he was poured and contemplates whether he should drink it yet. On the other hand, he could shoot for a bit of small talk first.] How'd that mission thing go for you?

Boring. Well... boring after the first day or so, anyway. I was sifting through ruins for random Third Party stuff.

Still, I'll take it over actual fighting. [Nami doesn't wait on her own glass, but she's sipping it, at least.]

That's it? When I pictured most of those missions, I pictured something along the lines of sneaking around and doing big stuff.

[That's just how Ragna thinks. If it's in a conflict like this, all missions are supposed to be conflict, right?

Ragna takes his glasses, stares at it for a moment, and takes a sip. Then winces.]

Well, there were traps everywhere, if that helps. I think it'd have been more interesting if I understood what I was looking at.

[Grin.] Pretty rough stuff. You gonna be okay with it?

Probably, but even then. It sounds boring as high hell.

[Ragna really does prefer kicking someone's ass when it comes down to it. Luceti's just turning him into a violent guy.]

I can manage a drink. [IT'S SO HARD...] ... Pretty sure I can.

[Because you weren't a violent guy before you came to Luceti. Got it!]

I'd hope so. That stuff floored me when I first drank it.

[...of course, she did kind of drink the whole bottle in one hit. >.>]

It floored you? [He was halfway to taking another sip, but now his hand froze in place as soon as he heard that.]

A long time ago! And a lot more of it. You'll be fine.

... If you're so sure. [Ragna isn't sure. But he'll roll with it, since he already said that Nami was responsible if he ended up passing out or whatever else. He takes another sip, and winces again. He is nowhere near used to drinking this kind of liquor.]

So... mind sharing what the deal with everyone is today?

[Her grin fades.]

As far as I can see, half the town is convinced it comes from other worlds than their normal ones. Probably tied in with a whole bunch of world-visiting that went on earlier.

[He leans back against his seat, looking around the bar to see if what Nami said is true. Not that he'd be able to pick people apart from acting out of the ordinary just from a glance, but Ragna's logic sometimes works. Sometimes.]

That'll do it. Least it explains why I saw some weird crap over the journals. [...] Wait, what world-visiting?

[That actually makes her snicker.] Wow. You were as out of the loop as I am. Some offer that Catherine made, apparently. For people to visit each other's worlds. Doesn't that sound interesting?

Geez, and I didn't even go out on a mission... [Muttered just loud enough. He really needs to step his game up.] Interesting makes it sound like a joke. It sounds like it could really screw things up at home.

Yeah. Not only that, if he could send people home just like that, what happened to the party line of "Oh whoops, sorry, we don't know how to send you home?"

[The realization of that actually makes Ragna's expression suddenly turn foul.]

... You're right. That little bastard's gotta be keeping something from us!

Yep. If I get the chance when he wakes up, I think I'm gonna have words.

[Hey, so's Nami! She just...knows that'd get her arrested or some idiocy, so she'll just imagine punching him. (A lot.)] Well, he has to wake up first. No idea how long he's going to be out for. Or if he'll ever wake up.

[The threat of arrest or detainment by the other villagers wouldn't stop Ragna, and he knows it. Yuuup.]

This crap's gonna be a pain in the ass to deal with if he doesn't start waking up anytime soon. [Just the thought of being so close to answer of getting home, and it all going to shit just because one guy won't wake up... It's annoying.]

[Oh well if we're talking about villagers, Nami doesn't give a damn what they think. |D She was thinking droids.]

All his stuff's been taken anyway. Even if he was capable of sending us all home, he isn't now. Not even by force.

[That's a realization that Ragna hadn't come to. And it makes him a little more angry.]

Dammit! [Yeah, see.] How much more bullshit are we gonna have to go through until we hit the damn jackpot we need?
