[Nami gets home from her mission late evening on the 2nd and knows pretty must straight away that something is off. Having been gone nearly two weeks, running into Sanji the way she does puts a bad taste in her mouth. She was looking forward to seeing them.

Once Sanji leaves with his spooky darkness powers, she strides through the house in search of other nakama who are awake in search of answers. Don't worry, if nobody's awake she'll just shake someone awake. 8Db Maybe all of you!

...and that shows her quite plainly that the experiment going on isn't just affecting her chef.

In a temper the next morning, she heads through town, meets some very off-kilter people she knows, and at least thanks the powers that be that she's unaffected this time. It doesn't improve her mood any, so she heads for the battledome to try and work out some stress and try (yet again) to see if she can locate the way down to Catherine's lab.

Okay, yes. That was kind of easy. TOO BAD ABOUT THE MESS.]

[Irritated Voice]

Does someone want to explain to me what the hell happened in the battledome? If any of you are still sane, that is. [She flops down in the wreckage of Catherine's lab and pans the video across the rubble. Doesn't seem much need for secrecy. This has to have been noticed by now, right?] And if anyone is still sane, please tell me what the hell is going on today?

...preferably over alcohol.

[She'll vent her temper on killing a bunch of pirates at the battledome, drop by the battledome clinic on the way out, then swing past Raine's with a handful of papers in hand. And finally, she hits the bar to drink in moody silence.

Unless of course anyone wants to keep her company, because that'd be kind of cool. Worst homecoming ever. >E]

[Nami was kind of assuming maybe Sanji had just come back from a 'napping or something. Because thus far her crew seem normal otherwise. ~~She hasn't got to Luffy yet~~

...no. Not quite. He was a little off. [From the unsure tone of her voice, a 'little' might be understating it.]

[Vivi doesn't miss that uncertainty.] Off how?

Well, let's see. He glared at me, then he was rude, then he vanished.

He did apologise. I think I hurt his feelings.

...oh. [Yep, definitely off. Vivi's brow furrows slightly as she draws her knees up to her chest.] Jixsan, you said? [It's easy to see how that name is derived from his real one, but Vivi doesn't understand why.]

Should we go looking for him?

...actually, what time is it? [Because somehow, things feel off in that department too.]

It's just after eleven. And I'm not sure it's a wise idea... [She trails off. Vivi asked another question before.] Everyone else seems okay so far.

[...yeah, she hasn't got to Luffy yet.]

[...wow, it really doesn't feel like it's only eleven.]

That's a relief, but I hope Sanji-san will be all right.

[Vivi covers the small yawn that slips out, and looks to Nami with a mildly curious expression.] Did your mission finish early? I thought you weren't due back until tomorrow.

Hm? No, I'm back on time. Or, well... I'm back late, actually. I woke up on the fountain not too long ago. Think they could just drop me home, but no.

[She shakes her head lightly.] I must've had it wrong. I wasn't expecting you until the second.

[...]

[There's a long moment where all Vivi can do is blink bemusedly.]

...that can't be right.

'fraid so. [Nami is watching Vivi, just as bemused.] Unless I somehow went back a day in time. Did anything weird happen?

No...or at least, I thought not. [Her brow furrows as she runs over the day's events in her head. Nothing stands out, but if what Nami's saying is true (and Vivi has no reason to doubt it is), then she's somehow managed to lose an entire day.]

[She brings a hand to her brow.] C-could I have been kidnapped for just a day? I don't remember anything at all. Or...maybe this is part of an experiment? [She lightly massages her temple, closing her eyes as if she'll be able to dredge up her memories through sheer willpower. Of course, it's to no avail.]

...I don't think it's just you. [Irritation at Zoro aside, something else he said comes to mind.] Zoro said a lot of people vanished yesterday. So maybe an experiment. But...you still seem the same to me. It's not like Sanji-kun.

I don't think there's anything wrong with me. [Not that she'd necessarily realize if there were any differences. That missing day is what's troubling her most right now.]

Did he say if anyone else from the crew went missing yesterday?

Luffy. I haven't checked on him yet. [She frowns.] You're okay, though? [Not that we haven't just gone over that, but she's just making sure, okay.]

[She nods.] I'm not hurt, and I think I'm all right. I mean, I don't think I'm someone else like Sanji-san does. [It sounds as though it goes deeper than just thinking he's another person, considering the portal Nami mentioned.]

[Vivi turns, swinging her legs off the edge of the bed. She doubts she can just go back to sleep now, and maybe Nami could use a hand.]

I don't want to get you out of bed. [It's a soft protest, but it's really a token one. If Vivi intends to get up again now, Nami could frankly use the company after having been away a week and being brushed off by Sanji.]

[Vivi waves that away.] I won't be able to go back to sleep now anyway.

[Later, perhaps, she'll manage to sleep, but she knows to stay in bed now would only end in restless tossing and turning.]

...

[Heh.] Okay. Let's go check on Luffy. Hopefully he's normal.

All right. Just a second... [Once out of bed, she pauses to shrug into her robe and belt it loosely. There we go. She nods.]
