[Nami gets home from her mission late evening on the 2nd and knows pretty must straight away that something is off. Having been gone nearly two weeks, running into Sanji the way she does puts a bad taste in her mouth.  She was looking forward to seeing them.

Once Sanji leaves with his spooky darkness powers, she strides through the house in search of other nakama who are awake in search of answers.  Don't worry, if nobody's awake she'll just shake someone awake. 8Db  Maybe all of you!

...and that shows her quite plainly that the experiment going on isn't just affecting her chef.

FML.

In a temper the next morning, she heads through town, meets some very off-kilter people she knows, and at least thanks the powers that be that she's unaffected this time.  It doesn't improve her mood any, so she heads for the battledome to try and work out some stress and try (yet again) to see if she can locate the way down to Catherine's lab.




Okay, yes.  That was kind of easy.  TOO BAD ABOUT THE MESS.]

[Irritated Voice]

Does someone want to explain to me what the hell happened in the battledome?  If any of you are still sane, that is.  [She flops down in the wreckage of Catherine's lab and pans the video across the rubble.  Doesn't seem much need for secrecy.  This has to have been noticed by now, right?]   And if anyone is still sane, please tell me what the hell is going on today? 

...preferably over alcohol.

[She'll vent her temper on killing a bunch of pirates at the battledome, drop by the battledome clinic on the way out, then swing past Raine's with a handful of papers in hand.  And finally, she hits the bar to drink in moody silence.

Unless of course anyone wants to keep her company, because that'd be kind of cool.  Worst homecoming ever. >E]

For real? Sounds like you know more than me, Nami, and I was there. Didn't stick, though.

Heh. I heard that from Law at the clinic. I guess he probably fought them.

I didn't see anyone come from the clinic. Doubt it matters much, though. What happened to Old Blue?

Badly hurt. And his lab under the battledome was destroyed.

Jesu...Gotta say, never thought a thing like this would hap.

Heh. I was surprised by it, but knowing it happened, it makes me think it was inevitable. Catherine was hiding out in Luceti.

It's poss. Probs not the best hide, though...hmm...think he's gonna come out of this?

[Alive, that is.]

One way or the other. If he dies in the clinic, he'll be resurrected. Whether that's a good thing for him or not is another story. [Sip.] Depends on who does the resurrecting.

I hope that's true. Not a big fan of trying to use logic in this place, though. Hope nothing goes wrong. [In his resurrection. Also drinking.] I don't think he's as toy as people think.

I don't think he's that bad of a guy.

Hmm. He's done some good things and some really shitty things. I guess I don't know what to think.

[mythmaker]

It's hard to find a really bad person, yeah? They exist, no doubts about it, but life isn't like a black and white scope.

[mikangirl]

No, I know. Just some of the bad things they do hurt more than others. It kind of clouds your vision after a while.

You've been here longer than me, Nami. I might not be the best judge for him, too.

Well, I don't really know either. He's done a couple of good things, as well. I think his heart's sort of in the right place, but he has no concept of the fact that some of the things he does really hurts the people here.

I don't think I'll ever understand the high-ups here. Good or not, things just change so sudden, yeah?

Don't they just. [Eyeing Azusa over the glass. You might appreciate the irony in another week, sob.]

[Oh, she will, once she gets over the fact that she's been carrying around a gun.]

It'd be a bit much if it weren't for the people here. I'm glad we can work together most of the time.

[Oh, crap, her glass is empty.]

[Hmm, well we can't have that. Nami peers at the empty glass and drains hers, then gives Azusa a crooked grin.] More of the same?
