[Nami gets home from her mission late evening on the 2nd and knows pretty must straight away that something is off. Having been gone nearly two weeks, running into Sanji the way she does puts a bad taste in her mouth. She was looking forward to seeing them.

Once Sanji leaves with his spooky darkness powers, she strides through the house in search of other nakama who are awake in search of answers. Don't worry, if nobody's awake she'll just shake someone awake. 8Db Maybe all of you!

...and that shows her quite plainly that the experiment going on isn't just affecting her chef.

FML.

In a temper the next morning, she heads through town, meets some very off-kilter people she knows, and at least thanks the powers that be that she's unaffected this time. It doesn't improve her mood any, so she heads for the battledome to try and work out some stress and try (yet again) to see if she can locate the way down to Catherine's lab.

Okay, yes. That was kind of easy. TOO BAD ABOUT THE MESS.]

[Irritated Voice]

Does someone want to explain to me what the hell happened in the battledome? If any of you are still sane, that is. [She flops down in the wreckage of Catherine's lab and pans the video across the rubble. Doesn't seem much need for secrecy. This has to have been noticed by now, right?] And if anyone is still sane, please tell me what the hell is going on today?

...preferably over alcohol.

[She'll vent her temper on killing a bunch of pirates at the battledome, drop by the battledome clinic on the way out, then swing past Raine's with a handful of papers in hand. And finally, she hits the bar to drink in moody silence.

Unless of course anyone wants to keep her company, because that'd be kind of cool. Worst homecoming ever. >E]

[And a few hours later, likely with a couple of interruptions before she gets there, there will be a ping on the journal to alert Nami that Raine has gotten back home. She's welcome to drop by at any time that's convenient for her now.]

[Then Nami will do just that, diverting from the bar for a little while to come and knock on Raine's door, with a few folded papers tucked into her journal.]

Good afternoon, Nami. Please, come on inside.

Hey. [She does just that, though she peers around to see if anyone else is there as she does so.]

I don't know if what I have is actually interesting to you, but... I got sent on a mission digging through the ruins of that underground Third Party city.

[There's no one in the immediate vicinity; it's still before dinner, so Albert isn't home, and Caesar is lazy no matter what world he thinks he's from.

... in any case, the mention of that very word has her eyes lighting up.]

Really? [And all but dragging her inside at that point-] You must tell me more!

[...okay, well that was unexpected. Nami blinks as she is all but dragged inside, but then she grins at the enthusiasm. Sounds like she did the right thing. |D]

I'll tell you as much as I can. Should I start anywhere in particular?

From the beginning, of course. ... Or at least, from when you first got there. Your initial findings?

Empty. Very dusty, and a lot of wreckage from the attack. Kind of intimidating, being underground and all.

We had to sift through the wreckage and look for anything that was still more or less intact to hand over to the Malnosso. I think they're trying to understand the Third Party guys as much as we are.

I wasn't allowed to bring anything home with me, but I did some sketches for what I can remember. [She starts fishing out the folded pages from her journal.]

Sketches?! Let me see them! [She'll refrain from actually grabbing the papers, herself, but the excitement is still quite evident.]

[Nami has to go digging for this kind of stuff more often, if this is the sort of reaction she's going to get. She hands over her sketches with a grin-- some samples of Third Party symbols (writing?) and a couple of rough sketches of a few day to day bits and pieces they might have used. ~~Vague mods are vague~~]

I'm wondering if their writing is translatable. It could be interesting to find out.

The more samples of it that can be collected, the better! I can compare them to the symbols we found in the temple before that was submerged.

Oh, there were symbols out there? [Her interest is piqued.] I have to admit, I didn't know much about that ruin. [All of her sketches are surrendered into Raine's care.]

It was a temple that was used for sacrificial rituals, that we are certain of. Most of the artifacts had been swept through and removed before we were able to explore it, however. [Blegh, ocean.] But we did what we could when the opportunities were there. There's certainly enough left for comparison, if nothing else.

[O-oh. Sacrificial rituals; she had heard about that a while ago. Nami shifts on her seat uncomfortably ~~she totally sat down at some point~~ and shakes her head.] Kinda glad it's not being used now, then. If I get sent back at any point, I'll take as many samples as I can.
