[Action/Video] Day 5 onwards

[And on the first four days of this experiment, lo, the navigator was completely unaffected and oblivious, casually making use of Trafalgar Law's coated ship to pretend Luceti doesn't exist explore the ruins beneath the water.  She'd have invited Raine, only you know.  Under the surface and all.  S'all good.  It's not like the rest of the village is going nuts or anything, is it?

...and on day 5, there is a lot of screaming, lost to the depths of the sea.  Luckily, her journal is off for that part, or she'd never live it down.  However.]

Zoro!!  Katara?  Someone get me off of this thing!!   Why is it always a boat?

[Ship, Nami.  But hey.   Feel free to drop in on her for a rescue or a random teleport or whatever floats your...boat... /shot


From day 7 onward Nami will be afflicted by the teleporting bug herself, turning up in all sorts of awkward places.  Not always fully dressed.  Beware:  she will charge you for the privilege,   8|  Throughout, though, she really kind of believes she's someone else, married with three children.  Ahahaha.  She may kill someone when this is over.]

[NAMI do you know how close you were to landing on the hot stove? It's bad enough to have people just showing up in the tea shop with no notice at all, in all the wrong places.

[FFFF-- yeah, Nami'll just take that hand to pull her away from that nasty looking hotplate. She's mostly dressed this time, at least, though she was halfway through putting on a shirt. 8| It's half unbuttoned.]

Thanks. Uh...sorry, Sheena. I can't seem to help it today.

It's not a big deal. We'd be kinda stuck if you burned yourself though. Since you're here, you want anything?

[To button your shirt the rest of the way, at least? Not that Sheena cares.]

Tea. Got any chai? [Yeah, she'll just get onto that shirt-buttoning thing.] I'd offer you a hand but I'm not sure you want me vanishing through handing someone something hot.

I think I can manage tea. Hang on.

[Exactly right, no dropping steaming water on the customers, some of her other helpers do enough of that. In just a few minutes, Nami has a cup of hot chai in her hands.]

So how's it going, getting back the money everyone owes you?

I would be, if all the money hadn't vanished. [Nami sighs and takes a seat somewhere out of the way, hands curled comfortably around the mug.] Thanks. You know, this is the worst Shift I've seen.

Oh, you had that too? Someone came in here and expected a free cup of tea! I know I'll do it if you're dying of thirst or feeling really awful, but this was just some guy!

[Shaking her head. The audacity of people sometimes, right?]

It'll get better. By the time we get used to them they're usually over anyway.

Man, that is some nerve. [Normally she'd be more understanding, given a Shift and all, but come on. We're talking about money.]

Can't end soon enough. Zoro doesn't even remember we're married.

[SHE KNEW YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND.

It's harder to sympathize back. With her husband gone, and all.]

Oh, he will. And when he does, I'm going to make him pay for this week in spades. 300 per cent interest on all the affection he owes me!

[Sob Nami doesn't know you're missing a husband. ;;]

He'll be paying that off for years.

[If he stays that long. This attempt at a smile is really pale.]

[That, she does pick up on, and the concern shows on her face.]

Nope. [Bit too fast.] Things're fine, don't worry about it.

[Because Sheena thinks that Nami knows.]

Liar. C'mon, tell me.

[corrinesbell]

It's just...weird, talking about husbands, okay?

What's happened? Does he not remember you?

He's not here anymore, okay?

It's fine, just leave it alone. Don't worry about it.

[Dude, you're her sister, she can't leave you alone. Nami's gonna kind of ambush you with a hug now, 'kay.]

[She's a little surprised - but she shouldn't be.

Folding herself into Nami's hug is shockingly easy. It feels better than trying to deal with the emptiness alone.]

[mikangirl]

...I'm so sorry.

[Maybe he'll come back is an empty reassurance Nami has learned not to give. But she'll hope it just the same.]

If you want, you could come stay with me for a while. My house is kind of empty. It's not even really my house.

[corrinesbell]

You think? [No wait you have responsibilities.] But Ayumu's living with me, and I feel like if I leave him alone in there he'll wreck the place or something.

...But could I come over for dinner?

[mikangirl]

Any time. I can make something up real nice tonight if you like. [It's nice to hear Ayumu's doing okay, though.] It'd be nice to cook for someone.

[corrinesbell]

[Maybe if she's at Nami's tonight she won't end up wandering her way to Good Spirits again. Her sister has plenty alcohol of her own.]
