[Action/Video] Day 5 onwards

[And on the first four days of this experiment, lo, the navigator was completely unaffected and oblivious, casually making use of Trafalgar Law's coated ship to pretend Luceti doesn't exist explore the ruins beneath the water.  She'd have invited Raine, only you know.  Under the surface and all.  S'all good.  It's not like the rest of the village is going nuts or anything, is it?

...

...and on day 5, there is a lot of screaming, lost to the depths of the sea.  Luckily, her journal is off for that part, or she'd never live it down.  However.]

[Panicked Voice]

Zoro!!  Katara?  Someone get me off of this thing!!   Why is it always a boat?

[Ship, Nami.  But hey.   Feel free to drop in on her for a rescue or a random teleport or whatever floats your...boat... /shot

From day 7 onward Nami will be afflicted by the teleporting bug herself, turning up in all sorts of awkward places.  Not always fully dressed.  Beware:  she will charge you for the privilege,   8|  Throughout, though, she really kind of believes she's someone else, married with three children.  Ahahaha.  She may kill someone when this is over.]

((ooc:  Please note the first portion of this takes place before Alexei's post about pinwheels.))

Or I could cut our way out. [Yes, this plan is still on the table. B|b

Zoro pulls Shuusui out of its sheathe, destructive intent rolling off him in waves.]

[He lifts his arm, towing Nami upward until they're pretty much face to face.] We won't drown! We just need to swim to the surface! It's not like it's............

No, not that! [Never mind that none of your reasons make sense to him. Sharks? Really, Nami?] That other... [He colors a little and is, for once, lost for words.]

Never mind. [He drops Nami back to her feet (gently) and re-sheathes his sword.] I'll find us another way out.

[He shuffles around the deck, neck straining as he stares up at the surrounding water. That bubble doesn't look too hard to cut through...]

As far as I know. [Which is Zoro-speak for Who Knows? Sorry, Nami. He barely knows what time it is.] I'm sure they're fine.

[In the meantime, Zoro's gonna go stand in that corner over there. Just... checking for a way out. Really. No need to pay attention to him or anything. >_>a]
gavemyword: ([still] serious)

[He turns his head slightly to shoot her a look. That tone just triggers all sorts of Pavlovian responses in him, not a single one of them comforting.

But instead of running for the hills (or the surrounding ocean, as it were), Zoro just shakes his head in response. There's something wrong here but he can't quite put his finger on it...]
It's nothing.

[He walks over to Nami, eying her carefully.] Are you ok?
gavemyword: ([still] is this chicken or rat?)

[Wat.]

What does that have to do with anything? You're not making any sense. [Also he's looking a bit uncomfortable here, Nami. Can you... not do that... Zoro's hand comes up to catch her fingers. He lets them hang there for a moment, confusion caught on his face.]

gavemyword: ([speaking] yeah yeah)

[He doesn't think any of that stuff is particularly strange considering their lifestyle but is at least smart enough to realize that this wasn't the time get into an argument about it. He looks her in the eye, slow and steady.]

You're Nami, our navigator. You like mikan and money and manipulating that idiot love-cook into doing things for you. [Your village was taken over by Arlong and you steal without reservation. You have a sister with purple hair, a weapon that manipulates weather, and a dream as big as my own.

In short, nakama. Zoro's gaze turns suspicious.]
... what's this about?
gavemyword: ([speaking] lecturing)

[personal profile] gavemyword 2012-06-13 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
The fact that we're... what? [The confusion on his face should be answer enough to the rest of those questions. He doesn't like where this discussion is going but they're already too far down the rabbit hole; he needs to figure out how bad the experiment's effects are, and to try mitigating it if possible.

Being stuck underwater doesn't help any. He knew he should've sliced his way out when he still had the chance.]

[Zoro... doesn't look pleased. Not by a long shot.] Tell me.

[It occurs to him to just let it go but a small voice inside him thinks he might stand to learn something from all of this.

Damn if he knew what, though.]

[Zoro's having none of that door-face closing business, and he's making that clear by trailing after Nami as closely as possible.]

What's it about?
