[Action/Video] Day 5 onwards

[And on the first four days of this experiment, lo, the navigator was completely unaffected and oblivious, casually making use of Trafalgar Law's coated ship to pretend Luceti doesn't exist explore the ruins beneath the water.  She'd have invited Raine, only you know.  Under the surface and all.  S'all good.  It's not like the rest of the village is going nuts or anything, is it?

...and on day 5, there is a lot of screaming, lost to the depths of the sea.  Luckily, her journal is off for that part, or she'd never live it down.  However.]

[Panicked Voice] 

Zoro!!  Katara?  Someone get me off of this thing!!   Why is it always a boat?

[Ship, Nami.  But hey.   Feel free to drop in on her for a rescue or a random teleport or whatever floats your...boat... /shot


From day 7 onward Nami will be afflicted by the teleporting bug herself, turning up in all sorts of awkward places.  Not always fully dressed.  Beware:  she will charge you for the privilege,   8|  Throughout, though, she really kind of believes she's someone else, married with three children.  Ahahaha.  She may kill someone when this is over.]

[Snrk. She can't help but grin at that.] So far this is the first time I've ever done it, so no. The other two times I've had the misfortune to be entirely naked.

Well, that's a downright crying shame. I got you clothed. Though--I suppose that means you won't come after me with a bat.

Well, I'm not really the bat wielding type. Guess it's your lucky day on both counts.

[IT IS NICE ENOUGH. It's nondescript navy blue and now he's back and holding it out to her.]

You're not? Well, that's ashamed. I would have assumed that flowed through the genetic pool.

No, I'm more a kick you where it hurts type. [She smiles cheerfully and practically snatches that shirt out of Tony's hands, though she does say thank you. Decency: get.] Though mind you, I don't think anyone in my family uses a bat. Alexei would just lock you up for a year or two.

[...Alexei? He knows who Alexei is. He didn't know, however, that he had any relation to Nami.

Still, odd. He could have sworn he told her about Bellemere.]

Oh, I wouldn't put it past your mother. But maybe that was just an exception. I brought the bat, after all.

[Thaaat gets him a very odd look. Not exactly upset, just... WTF, Tony. You totally should know this, clearly.]

Uh...

My mother's been dead for over ten years.

[He makes a face. This isn't news he was aware of before. Bellemere's dead?

The look passes after a moment. Something still wasn't making sense.]

I'm sorry to hear that. Makes her leaving this place that much worse, doesn't it.

Leaving...? [People do often vanish from Luceti, but ... maybe he's misinformed. Slightly awkward topic.]

I'm sorry, but... she never left. She was killed in a Third Party raid.

[Totally legit.]

[And there's that weird something-experimenty-this-way-comes feeling creeping up on him.]

That's not the way I remember it. [He runs through the shifts he's seen this week--which one was she under?] Question--have we met before?

Yes...? A couple times. [Clearly she's not the only one under a Shift, then, if Tony's asking such a question. Man, no wonder he's confused.] We met at the festival, remember? Or maybe you don't. Everyone's a little off this week.

[He's fairly certain he remembers everything about his previous Luceti stay now, and he doesn't remember meeting her at any festival. It does ring a bell, though, in something he's picked up from reading the journals.]

Let me guess--the Great One's festival? Because we've all lived in Luceti all our lives and just love our little hamlet to bits and pieces? God bless the Malnosso?

[Huff.] No need to be sarcastic about it. I'm well aware most of the village can't remember things this week.

[Well, there you have it. Luceti Valley. An experiment he didn't experience (thankfully) but has heard plenty about.]

And you don't find that strange? Wonder if maybe you're the odd man out instead of the other way around?

[She's an intelligent sort, so she checks her temper on that, because it's a valid question.] I might consider that, you know. But there are plenty of others who also remember how the town is meant to be. My extended family, for one.

...Your extended family. Alexei, you mentioned. Who else?

[mikangirl]

My sister, Sheena. And my little brother, Damuron. [Which...doesn't quite count as extended, she realises. An uneasy look briefly flits across her face, because apart from that, large portions of her family are missing. Which is always an unhappy thing around here.]

[He doesn't know either of the others, so hell if he knows if they're actually related. But having known Bellemere, wouldn't she have mentioned if she had other children running around?]

And--do you actually look like them? Genetically speaking. Is it actually feasible that your related?

Of course we do. [Nami looks faintly surprised. Because lol, Luceti Valley also enforced the Don't Question The Parentage rule.] Look, I know it's confusing, but it'll wear off eventually.

Yeah, I'm sure it will. [He doesn't want to argue the point. He's done enough arguing about Shifts this week and it was getting old.] So--why don't you tell me more about what I'm missing not remembering things they way you do? I'd love a first hand account. Really. I'm not even being facetious.

Well, that's kind of hard to say. I mean, we're all part of the same village otherwise-- what's life like as far as you're concerned?

Well, for starters--we're not from around here. Any of us. My home town? A lot bigger and shinier than this place. And family is extremely rare. We're a real Island of Misfit Toys, I'll tell you.

[Pause.] And the Malnosso? Not out benefactors.

action;

[mikangirl]

That's not the way it is, normally. [Though she sounds more thoughtful than assured about that.] Luceti Valley was settled centuries ago, but the valley keeps getting hit by Shifts that affect people's minds. The Malnosso are the ones who set it straight.

[But even Luceti Valley brainwashing doesn't stop her from noticing just how consistently people are against the Malnosso this week, no matter what they curently believe about themselves.

...not to mention all the cash is mysteriously gone. That's something Nami does wonder about.]

Alright, then--if it's not the Malnosso running the Shifts? Then who is? Last I checked, the Third Party couldn't get in here. Unless you've got another story.

They're natural! [It occurs to her she's discussing the weird shifting metaphysics of Luceti in a guy's living room wearing his shirt, really. Nami frowns and finds a chair to sit down in.] They've been natural for centuries - something's wrong with the land. They've done this ever since I was a little girl, anyway.
