So I'm curious. How bizarre did some of your reminder cards get? Did anyone not take them all at face value?

[She has valid reasons to ask, trust me. Selfish Nami-is-pissy reasons, mind, but that's what happens after you've spent a week with a scattered crew and a comatose chef and a mallynapped swordsman and find yourself playing babysitter to a bunch of people who really ought to know better, not looking at you, Perona. Also there's an anniversary coming up she really wished she hadn't still been around to see.

[Aside from these possibly redundant plottin shenanigans, Nami will be in her usual haunts: the mikan orchard in the afternoon and Good Spirits in the evening. Though around noon she's gonna drop in to Seventh Heaven (or if it's still closed, wherever Sanji is) to check on him. Just to make sure things are, y'know, okay now. Because mad cooking sprees are kind of a cause for alarm. Moreso than Sleeping Beauty syndrome. Back atcha, chef.

Also, Zoro, hurry up and come home. She wants to have words about certain balancing games played. *_*]

What factory?

[Nami remembers nothing about factories. But she's been out of the loop for a while.]

Couple days before Katara's party. [Some of what he said there was actually under the assumption she knew what he meant. WHOOPS.] After the last of us was returned from that mess protecting Bil.

[Katara's party sets it in stone for her right away. She shakes her head.] I only got back the day before her party. [Because they sent Nami on a mission for her birthday. Rude.] I was off picking up corpses.

Eh. Could be worse.

[Picking up corpses is a nice, quiet mission at least. Especially since they're sorta not dead.]

The long and the short of it is that those of us who were captured as decoys were taken to a facility. I assume it belonged to Rogue Faction. We escaped from our cells for a time, and on the Third Floor we discovered a small factory. They were manufacturing the new line of droids there.

[That was going back a way.]

So what was different about this new line?

Lots.

[SOUNDS GOOD.

Insert bits here about how the new droids have a sleeker look and separate power source (seeing as they were still running when power was taken out of the building, which took out the older droids). They're stronger, faster, and the damage they take is repaired in a matter of seconds.

Oh and they have actual brains installed in their robotic skulls. Gross as it is, it looks like it takes longer to manufacture them that way.]

[Okay that's disgusting and horrifying and Nami will display the appropriately disgusted and horrified face as a result. And also, that post has come up with an interesting other point for her.]

This point about the stars in the sky not being real. [Sokka's first response.] We've been outside the barrier. There's plenty of stars in the sky out there.

Could be that they do the same for other areas? I wasn't actually on that draft, so it's hard to talk.

So they're just what, Shifting a vision of stars up there for us? I can understand the barrier, given they can make things like the moon come out of the sky and all, but everywhere? That doesn't add up.

Maybe those places have barriers too. Even people who aren't test subjects would need protection from the Cultists.

That's all very nice. But if that's the case, why would there be Cultists inside the barriers?

They've broken through before.

On such a regular basis? What the hell makes our barrier so special, then?

Probably not. [Grumble grumble flopping her chin down on one hand.] But I don't buy that reasoning. It doesn't add up.

Personally I like it better than the idea that the Malnosso having the power to rearrange the stars.

[Which is something Katara told him that Bil did, when he first came here. That bugged him forever.]

But I'd be shocked if there wasn't more to it.

No, I doubt they have that power. But there's a discrepancy there. [She frowns. It gives more weight to a theory she'd had earlier. And she doesn't much like it.]

There's always strings attached. If I'm not out there working for the Malnosso, I'm out there against their wishes and am in a lot of trouble. I don't much care.

I guess I am, in a sense. Freedom to move around this world would do a lot for a less narrow view of how this place even works.
