[Nami's been MIA for a while, now. No big hassle-- close CR might know she went camping for various strange reasons. They may or may not involve a series of experiments and cruelty to various animals (it's all in the name of Science(TM)!!) and possibly cruelty to the odd wandering swordsman that happens to cross her path.

She's found out some interesting things. Although admittedly, they're likely only interesting to her as a weather geek. Nothing that will help her get home. Which sucks. But what can you do. She thinks she might pass on the results to a few select people anyway. Just in case.

Mindful of the date, she finally comes home just before the weekend, and if she's missing a couple of days from her memory after that, she just doesn't care. She's probably better off forgetting. So ignore that for now.

What matters more than that is her best friend has a birthday coming up.]

I know Vivi has a few friends in town and I don't know who they all are, so I thought I'd just make a general announcement. It's her birthday on the 2nd of February, and I'm going to take her up to the hot springs for the day. I'd really, really love it if any friends she has can come up for that day, too. She won't mention her birthday, so... you know. I can manage this much. She'd be pretty happy to see people there.

Bring food and drink and anything else you like?

Also, I'll be at Good Spirits tonight if anyone wants to catch up. Been a while.

[So catch her either at home or around town, because she'll go shopping as well-- she's been gone a while. And in the evening, she'll be at Good Spirits.]

[Nami will likely already be glancing in Hibiki's direction because that's a pretty big dog, but... uh. Hamster? Kind of cute and kind of bizarre--

--it doesn't stop her from raising a hand in response and giving a small grin.]

Hey. Both pets from home?

[The dog, Inumi, gives a loud bark in response to the greeting. The hamster on her head also greets Nami with a small wave of his own. Meet Hibiki Ganaha, the walking zoo.]

Mmmhmm! This girl is Inumi, and the hamster is Hamuzou. We're out shopping today because they want new treats. Inumi said it's nice to meet ya! And I agree.

[She's in a good mood today.]

[...did that hamster just wave.

WELP. Not like she hasn't met strangely intelligent animals before this.]

Well, nice to meet you guys, too. I'm Nami. What kind of treats? [She's not sure if this place even really stocks pet treats.]

Ah...oh, no, I spent so much time talkin' about my pets again that I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Hibiki. I-I'm sorry! They've been very good so I wanted them to pick out somethin' special for me to cook, but they can't decide on just one thing.

[Hibiki's not sure, either, since she cooks all of her pet food from natural ingredients.]

[That first part nets an outright amused snicker.] Well, everything's free. I guess you could pick up a few things and save them for later. Or flip a coin or something.

That's what they're tryin' to say, too, but I don't wanna spoil them. [At this, her dog does an about face and starts to walk away. Did she just huff?] It's nice that everything's free, but that doesn't mean we should be greedy, right?

Hmm, well as long as you don't take everything available. Myself, I tend to stock up. We've had a few occasions where the stores aren't available for a week or two.

..but spoiling animals, that's a different story. [She grins at the huffing dog.] So flipping a coin it is, I guess.

Mm, stocking up is important, too. But treats are special! We can't just carry those around. [At Nami agreeing with Hibiki, Hamuzou falls onto his back (still on her head) and reaches for the sky as if he's having a heart attack. Inumi disappears into another aisle.]

H-Hamuzou's just overreacting 'cause there's a pretty lady around. Hey, Nami, why don't you pick for Hamuzou? I think he'd be fine with that! [And with that, Hamuzou is standing up again, crossing his arms and nodding eagerly. He chatters something that only Hibiki understands...he's not a native Luceti animal.]

[Snrk. Nami throws up her hands in amusement.] Who, me? I'm not even sure what hamsters eat. Uh... green, leafy stuff? Maybe? What do you like, Hamuzou?

[Chattering or not, he seems pretty intelligent.]

Alright, then! There's nothin' leafy on the menu, but Hamuzou was asking for some cucumbers! Those are pretty green, so those will be his special treat! You're not gonna argue that, are ya, Hamuzou?

[Yep. Hamuzou nods and does a bit of a fistbump. He has accepted his fate. The goddess has chosen for him...!] Hehe, thanks Nami! That was a big help!

Hahh... no problem! Happy to help. [Did she actually help? UNSURE. But the hamster is cute, and cucumber sounds like it's something a hamster might like. She thinks...?] And what about ...Inumi? Is he much of a cucumber fan?

Mm, I really appreciate it. Inumi's a lot picker...she wants watermelon, peanut butter, and fresh chicken. I can't really make fresh dog food with those kinda ingredients, but she won't listen to me.

[She rubs the back of her neck a bit nervously. With Inumi in the other aisle, Hibiki's a bit embarrassed for her dog's rude behavior.]

She wants all three at once? {That sounds kinda disgusting.] Well... if there is watermelon here, I'd guess it won't be as nice as it would be in summer. I'd go one of the other two.

She really likes peanut butter?

Mm, but I told her I can't make one dish out of it all. It'd just go to waste. Hmm...I guess I'll go with chicken, then, if there's anything good...

[She nods eagerly. Talking about her pets with strangers is definitely the best way to spend time!] If ya get the right kind, it's pretty healthy, too. She just can't have too much, but that's no problemo since I'm in charge of her diet.
