[Nami's been MIA for a while, now. No big hassle-- close CR might know she went camping for various strange reasons. They may or may not involve a series of experiments and cruelty to various animals (it's all in the name of Science(TM)!!) and possibly cruelty to the odd wandering swordsman that happens to cross her path.

She's found out some interesting things. Although admittedly, they're likely only interesting to her as a weather geek. Nothing that will help her get home. Which sucks. But what can you do. She thinks she might pass on the results to a few select people anyway. Just in case.

Mindful of the date, she finally comes home just before the weekend, and if she's missing a couple of days from her memory after that, she just doesn't care. She's probably better off forgetting. So ignore that for now.

What matters more than that is her best friend has a birthday coming up.]

I know Vivi has a few friends in town and I don't know who they all are, so I thought I'd just make a general announcement. It's her birthday on the 2nd of February, and I'm going to take her up to the hot springs for the day. I'd really, really love it if any friends she has can come up for that day, too. She won't mention her birthday, so... you know. I can manage this much. She'd be pretty happy to see people there.

Bring food and drink and anything else you like?

Also, I'll be at Good Spirits tonight if anyone wants to catch up. Been a while.

[Nami's smile widens a little, and she turns to push the door open and hold it for Raine.] Come on in. I like their cocoa here.

[Which really is a holdover from when Guy used to make them for her, but you know. She gets a little comfort from that, so why not?]

Definitely. I like curling up in the back corner and going through the journal with a hot drink on a day like this. [She waves a hand around the bar.] Have a seat. I'll go and get us some drinks.

Indeed.

[Raine heads over to find a reasonable spot. It's not as if the bar is very full, but it's always nice to have some semblance of privacy even in a place like this.]

[Nami orders the two drinks, and then brings the sugar over separately so that Raine can sweeten it as she likes, and slides into the chair opposite.]

So. How have you been? [Her look is measuring.]

Oh, you know. I've been fine, with all what comes with the steady ins and outs of living in this place. [Falling into a coma, losing a housemate, dealing with remaining housemate's cursed arm, among other things, all while going about and maintaining that everyday feel to life.

She hates to complain, but her smile isn't as bright as it was before they stepped in, either.

She reaches for the sugar.] A little bumpy here and there, but things are evening out.

So life has kind of sucked for a while, huh? [Calling it like it is based on that expression. Nami is deadpan.] Hopefully they keep evening out. I suppose it's not too much to hope for a break sometimes.

Well... it's been more difficult for others than for me. The part that is more difficult to reconcile is when there is little I can do in my power to make it any easier for them.

Mm. Fact of life around here. [But she understands, and she softens it with a rueful smile.] The most you can really do half the time is just let them know you're there.

I do strive to do so, however it ends up received. [Some people were just so resistant to receiving help, and it wasn't as if she could force it on them. She wasn't very good at accepting it herself.]
