[Nami's had quite enough of sleeping. It's kind of disconcerting to be told it's now September, and it doesn't help that she's spent the time since Ling's rude wake-up call still sleeping most of her day away. So tired, all the time. Prone to falling asleep mid-shower, and that is annoying, to say the least.

Oh, well. A week has gone past and she can finally get through most of the day with no problems, so Nami takes advantage of the fact that there is no Chopper to tell her otherwise (and no Katara or Law at the house at the time) to sneak up to the orchard and see how it's fared in her near-two-month absence.

...huh. Been hot lately, she sees. And a lot less mikan up here than she was expecting. Nothing too alarming, and the place seems okay otherwise, pinwheels and all. Someone even fixed her cottage door, lookit that.

Welp. Observant villagers might see the low-lying rainclouds to the northeast of the village, a tiny little storm that barely covers an acre. It's too hot today anyway, may as well take advantage of the fact that she can cheat.]

Thanks, whoever fixed my door. Did you take some of the fruit as payment or should I blame someone else for that?

Not as bad as it could have been, if people didn't stand up to preserve the orchard. [For that, Miyabi's really grateful for. Even a few others she didn't know were willing to defend the precious fruit.]

I know. I'm glad you were here. [She reaches out to brush her fingers against the leaves.] If they were hungry, I don't begrudge them the fruit, but... it would've been pretty depressing to come back and find the place wrecked.

Most of them were really just taking what was offered, but there were always those few greedy people. [The ones not satisfied with what they were given, and craved more. There were always those kinds of people, unfortunately, but to be so brazen the way they were? It was terrible. Everyone was suffering, not just them. Selfish...]

Mm, but I don't think anyone here in Luceti would let anything too bad happen to the orchard. I, for one, wouldn't allow it, and I don't think your crew would be happy, either. [Seriously, it'd be a bad time for anyone stupid enough to do anything to Nami's orchard.]

I know. [She turns to give Miyabi a cheerful grin.] I trust you guys to watch out for the place.

Wanna go inside where it's a little drier?

[Miyabi returns the grin with one of her own, her aura glowing just a little bit brighter as she does. And, once Nami offers to get out of the rain, she hops right on over, dodging raindrops as well and she can until she's on her friend's shoulder and amidst the shelter of her long hair.]

Then let's go in. I don't have a leaf big enough to protect me, after all. [Hee. Nami heads for the shelter of the porch, pushing through the front door.] I don't suppose you have a straw your size with you, do you?

Not unless you shrunk... [Miyabi mumbles that with a little side-ways smirk, remembering the times Nami did shrink in Luceti. It was so funny - definitely nothing she'll soon forget. Humans are so not meant to live like her kind.]

Eh, a straw? Uhm... [She rummages through her pockets, then her bag, shaking her head.] No, just my usual things... Brushes, inkpots, charcoal...my journal and drawing pad... Why?
