[Nami's had quite enough of sleeping. It's kind of disconcerting to be told it's now September, and it doesn't help that she's spent the time since Ling's rude wake-up call still sleeping most of her day away. So tired, all the time. Prone to falling asleep mid-shower, and that is annoying, to say the least.

Oh, well. A week has gone past and she can finally get through most of the day with no problems, so Nami takes advantage of the fact that there is no Chopper to tell her otherwise (and no Katara or Law at the house at the time) to sneak up to the orchard and see how it's fared in her near-two-month absence.

...huh. Been hot lately, she sees. And a lot less mikan up here than she was expecting. Nothing too alarming, and the place seems okay otherwise, pinwheels and all. Someone even fixed her cottage door, lookit that.

Welp. Observant villagers might see the low-lying rainclouds to the northeast of the village, a tiny little storm that barely covers an acre. It's too hot today anyway, may as well take advantage of the fact that she can cheat.]

[Voice]

Thanks, whoever fixed my door. Did you take some of the fruit as payment or should I blame someone else for that?

I hear you there. I'm not a fan of Luceti at all, but I'll miss the people I met here. Be nice if I could just visit them once I leave.

I agree. I'm the Avatar after all, so I want to see if I can find a way to get through to other worlds. [Pause] At least... I want to be able to hold onto the memories of all you great people and the fun times that were only possible here.

Maybe one day we'll find a way of being able to go to and from Luceti any time we want. [It's the goal of all Nami's nefarious plans, anyway.] That'd be kind of awesome. We could use it as a meeting place... and the people who've died at home would get to stay here.

[Mixed feelings about. Most of what she says sounds hopeful. Like a way to hold onto all the friends he made here, like Nami and Shikamaru and Silver. But the part about dead people... it sends a chill down his spine. Because it's something he wants, something he'd really want. He could only dream of coming here to see Gyatso again, or Kuzon or Jet. And... it'd work both ways, too. His family would be able to see him again. Katara wouldn't ever have to see him for a last time.

Except that... this plan sounded a lot like being a god.

And he couldn't stay here forever.]

That would be a really neat idea, Nami, especially if we could stop that war from happening. If only it really were possible for everyone to live happily forever here.

The war? You mean with the Third Party, or...?

Yeah. Isn't that why this world has all these problems, because the Malnosso and the Third Party are all at war? This world would have to be at peace before we could think of using it for something like that.

Heh. I think the only way this world will ever be at peace is if we all go home, sadly. Malnosso included.

You could be right about that. And if this place can't have peace, then I wouldn't want anyone to be here if we had the choice.

Yeah, I guess so. I suppose I'm being too ambitious.

There's still nothing wrong with dreaming of a better world, even if it's too ideal. At least it can help us take steps towards making things better, even if it's just a little.

Anyone ever tell you you're one heck of an optimist?

I think so. It's one of my favorite compliments!

Well, I suppose the world needs more optimists.

Of course! If everyone in the world thought optimistically, they wouldn't have any reason to do any bad things!

Except for the part where they do bad things because they're optimistic that they can get away with it.

Nami, you gotta be more optimistic about what people would be optimistic about.

Oh, of course. My mistake, sorry. I guess I'm not very good at being optimistic.

And how do I follow your lead, exactly? Any tips?

Well... for us air nomads, it's always helped to think like leaves in the wind! We change our paths to meet resistance quickly and naturally. When we focus on the good and move with the wind, we can be at peace until a new wind can take us somewhere better.

Well, I do have a certain touch when it comes to winds. Maybe you're on to something.

You do, huh? You know, Nami, if you can change the winds yourself to make yourself happier, I wouldn't count it as cheating.

Probably just as well. I'm a terrible cheat.
