[Nami's had quite enough of sleeping. It's kind of disconcerting to be told it's now September, and it doesn't help that she's spent the time since Ling's rude wake-up call still sleeping most of her day away. So tired, all the time. Prone to falling asleep mid-shower, and that is annoying, to say the least.

Oh, well. A week has gone past and she can finally get through most of the day with no problems, so Nami takes advantage of the fact that there is no Chopper to tell her otherwise (and no Katara or Law at the house at the time) to sneak up to the orchard and see how it's fared in her near-two-month absence.

...huh. Been hot lately, she sees. And a lot less mikan up here than she was expecting. Nothing too alarming, and the place seems okay otherwise, pinwheels and all. Someone even fixed her cottage door, lookit that.

Welp. Observant villagers might see the low-lying rainclouds to the northeast of the village, a tiny little storm that barely covers an acre. It's too hot today anyway, may as well take advantage of the fact that she can cheat.]

Thanks, whoever fixed my door. Did you take some of the fruit as payment or should I blame someone else for that?

[Snrk. He's kind of hopeless. Nami has to resist the urge to reach out and do a better job of wiping that water away. Instead, she stretches and starts heading for the cottage.] I was just going to get a drink. You want something?

[Oh wow is the stranger offering him drinks? She is! And he's going to assume it's not water, because if they wanted water they could just open their mouths and look up...which is something he was thinking of doing, actually. He beams at the invitation.] Okay!

[It's because he seems so much like a child. Nami will deck anyone who says she has a soft spot for kids, though.]

Follow me, then. There's a cottage up the other end of the orchard with a kitchen. [Onward ho.]

[He follows obediently even as he says this, making sure to jump in every puddle he comes to.]

Yeah. I've got a little house out here. Makes things awfully convenient sometimes. Oh hey, do you like mikans? Or have you ever tried them?

Ohh. I never tried mikans before, are they good?

They're delicious! Have you ever had oranges or mandarines? Mikans are like those, only a little sweeter. Well, mine are, anyway.

They're sweeter than that? Wow, I want to try that! I like sweet things a lot.

Well, I've got a basket of them inside. You can try them out and see what you think.

Have you got friends in Luceti? You know, from home? [Not that she's a busybody or anything, but... oh, who are we kidding.]

I definitely recommend making friends with Asch. He needs more of them.

Good idea! [Nami crosses to the cupboard just inside the first bedroom, tugging out a towel and offering it to Florian.] Here you go, dry off. I'll make you a slushie.

Oh, thanks! [Wipin' his face, pattin' at his clothes, vaguely unwettening his hair...] What's a slushie? [That is a new word for him!]

It's like flavoured ice that's been crushed down into a drink form. It's really nice in summer.
